Some tracks great, but for me some were spoilt by too much slap back echo, leaving it quite messy.

Hi All,

My name is Abdel and I found this link on my website statistics.

CancerLeoCam, Are you a Surf musician in L.A?. Were did we meet?
HBISM (Huntington Beach?). I played there on the 3rd
of June a full Shadows set of which one of the Surf
community members capture "The Savage" and put it
on YouTube .
I play it close to the original way and not my own version
which is on my website (and probably a too busy one).

Here is the Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p8-KvIaqWc

Blue MetalFlake You are right, ther are some messy soundfiles out there
and it's mainly when I use the built-in compressor. It
tends to multiply the original echo.

I just registered on this forum as I own a Telecaster too. It's made in Canada
and called "Sparrow".

Best Regards,
Abdel

Abdel, welcome to the TDPRI! Man, that's some cool stuff you're playing.

Cheers, Tim

Lovely stuff, and nice to see the Shads flag kept flying in the USA. Takes me back to my teens - though I started on guitar four or five years earlier, "The Savage" was the first tune I ever got paid for playing, back in 1961.

For Shads fans, there are a couple of nice demo tracks played by a Swedish guitarist, to be found on Chris Kinman's website, www.kinman.com.

It's amazing how many players I work with have trouble getting the "Shadoogie" coda right...

Hi Tony,

Good to see a UK person an Shadows fan around.
I recorded a piece of "Shadoogie" on top of the original recording,
using the Tonelab. I tried to play it as close as possible to the original.

Here is the direct link:
http://akhineche.com/SHADOOGIE_TONELAB.mp3

But my personal video version of "Shadoogie" is here if you are interested:

Also my personal video version of "The Savage" is here if you want to hear it:

Best Regards,
Abel

Hi, Abdel,

where do you get your backing tracks from? In the past, I've got most of mine from Goran - he posts the backing track, the tab and a full version of him playing the tune (to his backing track).
