Queens of the Stone Age

Just wondering if there are any fans here. Totally non-Tele related, but I was at their show here in Vancouver last night and it was phenomenal. I've seen them every time they've played here in the last few years and every time they're tighter than before. I'm no expert, but I think Josh Homme, the singer and guitarist is an amazingly creative player. He doesn't sound like anyone I've ever heard before.

He and the hired gun second guitarist went off on a few echo-laden psychodelic tangents that were jaw-dropping.

I think last night was the last show of their tour, but if you get a chance to see them in the future, do it!

And now, back to your regularly schedule spankin' and twangin'.

I bought their first album a couple of years ago on a recommendation from MOJO magazine and listened to it quite a bit. I like Homme's style of playing too (at least for the heavy sound) and he's got a pretty good sense of humour, as in the songs Feel Good Hit of the Summer and Leg of Lamb.

I'll have to catch up on their music. I'd forgotten about them. Thanks for the heads-up.

I think that they are all very talented musicians. Hommes especialy he his an awesome guitar player. I've liked all of their cd's so far. Some of the screamin stuff on their new cd I'm not really into but the other stuff is great. Who plays drums with them while Dave Ghroles is on tour with the Foo Fighters?

I don't know anybody but the main two guys. I think it's really cool that they can have a rotating crew of musicians and still be QOTSA. Oh, and Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees) was there singing a few songs as well. The drummer is some massive tattooed guy and the other guitar player... I don't know who he was, but he was rockin'.

Not only that, but I really enjoy his talk show when I stay up that late.

Love 'em!

I saw them here. It rocked. I think that touring drummer was in Bad Religion, maybe. He's someone that used to be in another band.

Ditto on Josh H. looking like Craig K.

I love everything about that band. It's not often there's a band I can dig that's actually is a current band. I also love the fact that Josh H rocks the Ovations!

Allof that screaming is the bassist Nick Olivari.

You should hear The Dwarves. He's in that band. Or was. Or something.

I like the fact that a rock record with 3 or 4 different singers on it could do so well.
