Favorite Concert DVD's

.....yeah, I stole this idea from "favorite live album" thread, but I think this is more 21st century. I have about 22 now and wish more bands would get there act together, pun intended. With 5.1 and a good sub, it's better than being there, better views, better sound. My top 5:

Pink Floyd Pulse-saw the concert in '94.and'87.David Gilmour labored 12 yrs. over this one!
Led Zeppelin-2 disc/5 hrs! WOW!
Fleetwood Mac/The Dance- one of the first 5.1-saw them twice
John Fogerty-The Long Road Home-no kidding!
Eagles-Farewell 1/Melbourne-not Hell......

Honorable mention:

Eric Clapton-One more car, One more driver
Police-Synchronicity Tour-new DVD coming from current tour!
Yes-Symphonic Live-with European Festival Orchestra-Amsterdam-2001-saw 1979 Vancouver, round,revolving,stage,Rick W.-3/6 wives!
ELO-Out of the Blue Tour
Tom Petty-Soundstage-excellent production,sound, Mike Campbell!-saw twice.
James Taylor-Live at the Beacon Theater.
Stones-Bridges-one of the best live bands ever....
Moody Blues-Lovely to see You-saw twice
Simon & Garfunkle-Central Park
Neil Young-Silver & Gold-Neil sitting in a circle of acoustics, picking at will. Lost count how many times I've seen Neil...acoustic,elec,CrazyHorse,Pearl Jam,etc.
Paul McCartney-The Space Between Us-more of the obscure Beatle tunes! Jenny Wren=the new Blackbird!
John Mayer-Any Given Thursday-great Martins/Strat work.
Sting-Brand New Day-the man can play guitar! Strat/Gibson-Gut/Chet. Dominic Miller is awesome!......geez, that's all, for now, any suggestions for my next purchase? What are your top 5? Thanks.....JJ.

Eric Johnson Austin City Limits is fantastic.
Rory Gallagher Rockpallast is out of this world.
Any Boss & the E Street Band ( I have them all including a crappy Canadian TV Show bootleg ).
I'll second Joe Satriani in Frisco.
The G3 with Eric Johnson is the biz.
Crossroads festival ( esp ZZ Top closing )
Roy Orbison Black & White Night ( what a band !!!! )
I'm not a fan but the Zep DVD is outstanding.
The Beatles on the roof in Anthology.
Pink Floyd Pulse.
Concert for George
Clapton's Robert Johnson DVD is excellent.
Steely Dan's

There're so many...

Is there a ZZ Top concert DVD available ?

Soul Collection : Back To Stax (Live in Cannes 1990 featuring Booker T.& the MG's, Sam Moore, Carla Thomas, Eddie Floyd, Phil Upchurch, Memphis Horns).

Eagles : Farewell 1 Tour

Roy Buchanan at ACL

These are probably the ones I listen to the most, so they must be among my favorites.

They're by no means the only ones though.....

You might be nuts, but I like that one as well. I suppose it's a shared nuttiness, then.

I just saw the "Return to Sin City" tribute to Gram Parsons and was impressed by many of the performances. It had loads of Teles as well.

how much footage is actually in that? i thought i remember people complaining that it was a lot of still photos etc over the music.
i've been wanting to buy it for years, but the negative reviews i intially heard have kept me from pulling the trigger.

REDD VOLKAERT AT THE CONTINENTAL CLUB

The "lessons" of various licks done by Redd are great, but I'm speaking mainly about the concert. Beyond being a great show, there are numerous segments showing Redd's hands during this perfomance; making it easier for me to figure out exactly what he's doing.

Other that I really enjoy are:
ALBERT LEE & HOGAN'S HEROES IN PARIS
REDNECK JAZZ EXPLOSION (Danny gatton & Buddy Emmons)
BRAD PAISLEY...MUD ON THE LENS
ALLMAN BROTHERS AT LUDLOW GARAGE (Dwayne Allman)

James Taylor - Live At The Beacon

Easily my favourite DVD... I got a bunch of other cool titles, but I never get tired of this one. Actually, if I could do *one* thing in my musical career, it would be just to sing backup in his band. Seriously!

I like the Grateful Dead Movie. The bonus disk has a great Uncle John's Band and, of course, the original animation shorts are really cool. Lots of behind the scenes commentary, etc. A much appreciated artifact for those of us who were 4 years old when those concerts happened!

Second nomination for the already listed Rory Gallagher Rockpalast. Great sound and just crackling with energy. Glad I've hung on to my Strat all these years since it makes you either want to - or glad to - own one.

"Live at Red Rocks" - U2
That's a great concert film/video. I would place it at or near the top of my favorite concert DVDs, only it's not on DVD yet!

Mine:

The Rolling Stones "Four Flicks"
Kraftwerk "Minimum-Maximum"
ELO "Zoom Tour Live"
Simon & Garfunkel "Old Friends" (The faces are older than "Central Park," but it's a much better concert.)
John Fogerty "Premonition" (I thought I would like "Long Road Home" better, but I don't. It's clear that a lot of rerecording was done in studio for both of these DVDs, which is a minus.)
"Live 8"
U2 "Vertigo 2005 -- Live from Chicago" (It's really a toss-up between several U2 DVDs, although I'm not a big fan of "Zoo TV" and "Rattle & Hum.")
The Doors "The Doors Collection"
Love "The Forever Changes Concert"
Alice Cooper "Brutally Live"
Electric Prunes "Rewired"

The worst: Aerosmith "You Gotta Move."

Thank You

...thank you all for your great response, my shopping list is growing. I especially want to get the guitar god types, instructional or concert. Heather, I was so disappointed in the production quality of SRS(Zep), maybe you like the raw feel? I have the utmost respect for your knowledge and opinions, please see the newer 2disc Zep Live, I think it's definitive. Skully, I appreciate your comments about Fogerty...he's been famous for overdubbing since Cosmos Factory, why would his DVD's be any different?99.9% of studio albums are thoroughly overdubbed(Steely Dan-fave) You either take those incredible overdubbed licks with a grain of salt ....or not. Thanks all again.......JJ.

I forgot to mention my Rory Gallagher at Rockpalast DVD. There are a few moments of utter brilliance on there.

I've also got a VCR tape of Van Halen, Live Without A Net.
Most of it has Sammy Hagar doing the 'rock' thing and I can't bear to even watch. But they let Eddie loose in the middle for about a dozen glorious minutes of mind-boggling guitar solo.
Worth it just for that.
