guitars are way too cheap!

think about it: you can play anything and you can be a potential superguitarpicker. you can go into the next shop, and for a sum between 1.000 and 5.000 dollars or euros you can have all the equipment you ever need to start a worldcareer. now do the same if you are a carpenter or a mechanic. your first investment in tools is so much higher. even fotographers have to invest more to get a business going. only singers can be cheaper than gutarplayers. the only thing you need: you have to know how to play....

If you want to be a famous washboard player it doesn't require any investment at all!

I suppose in 'real terms' they are very cheap (that has to be good) and thats kind of a problem for sad gits like me !
Maybe it's an age thing but, saving for and eventually owning a real, American Fender was something pretty special but now you can buy and trash a chinese (or wherever they come from now) Fender for less than we used to pay for awful copies and that just don't seem right.
Yeah, yeah, i'm showing my age !!

In general, carpenters, mechanics and (to a lesser degree) photographers are in high demand for their services, don't usually have to work weekend nights, and are PAID for their work. Guitar players are a dime-a-dozen, rarely paid, work odd-hours, etc...

How about another joke:

Whats the difference between a working musician and a 12 inch pizza?

The pizza can feed a family of four!

Q: In the 22nd Century, how many guitarists will it take to change a light source?
A: 5-- One to do it and 4 to reminisce about how much better the old tubes were.
