Parts for Fender Double Neck Lap Steel

We've searched all the typical places and can't find the parts we need. We even contacted Fender. Not sure of the model but it's a Pre-CBS double neck 8-string lap steel guitar (Looks TV Yellow in color). We need the peg heads for one of the necks. Anyone a clue where we could start looking (not ebay)?

Are you talking about the tuner buttons?

There are a couple different types of those, and parts can be rather difficult to find. You might end up having to cruise ebay until some !@%#$% parts an instrument out.

I'd start, though, by asking the fine folks in the "steel without pedals" section over at steelguitarforum.com. Pics will be extremely helpful.

if it's a Stringmaster and you're referring to the tuner assemblies (the strip of 4 tuners afixed to a metal strip) you are out of luck. No one makes an exact replacement. You can order some tuner parts from allparts.com, but the pegs don't go all the way across the tuning pan and into the other 'hole'. They don't look good, and won't match the rest of the guitar.

I had to 'fake' it with a bunch of random parts from dobros, steel guitars, etc to get ones with the tuning peg that goes all the way accross the pan. They kinda match and kinda look like the other 3 assemblies, but anyone who looks closely from about 30 feet will be able to tell.
