A little buyers remorse?

I've fallen prey to evil-bay again. I've had 3 guitars on my want list for months and #3 was an Epi LP 56 Reissue Goldtop. Well yesterday I spotted one with 12 hrs left to bid. As always I set my highest price ,placed the bid and walked away. As the day went on I questioned the amount and got to thinking about it more and thought should I've gone that high. Long story short someone bid within $4 and bailed. So I paid the bill this morning and now have my 14th guitar in my collection on the way.In almost 30 yrs. this is the first Les paul type guitar I've owned. A welcome addition but I'm still feeling a little funny over this one, maybe because it's not a Fender. I think i'll blame John Fogerty for this one.

I hate buyers remorse. I get it all the time and I think it really takes some of the joy out of the new goodies. Having said that I don't think I regret most stuff I end up with. So don't sweat it. Enjoy the les paul. I think the paul is a must have.

don't feel remorse. The Epi '56 is great. Its the only 'paul' I lust after. Goldtop, P90's...

Dont worry. Keep telling yourself you deserve it. I deserve one too I think.

You would have been remorseful about not getting it, too. At least this way you have a guitar to show for your remorse. Enjoy!

A wrong choice in a musical instrument can't be as bad as a wrong choice with a mate or automobile where it's pretty safe to say the salvage value is always bad!

I'm just happy that my desire for guitars has stopped at current status where two are in the house for kids and others, but otherwise I'm happy with my basic dreadnought and Telecaster.

My friends and co-workers always laugh and remind me that my guitar collection may be worth a few grand. A fraction of what a lot of guys spend on classic cars, motorcycles ,boats etc. My other hobbies are not big ticket items either. Keeping in perspective a friend called last night to tell me a guy I used to work with passed away from a terrrible disease, he was 3 months older than me (48).
Life is short and I'm excited about getting my first Paul, the remorseful feeling is quickly fading.

I just traded 2 of my favorite guitars for an 85 Tokai Breezysound. After owning several Tokai AST-62's, I've been Gass'in for the past 6-7 years for the BreezySound, all I keep thinkin' about is the strat and tele I just sent out, but I think when the Breezy's plugged in all the remorse will be gone....I hope. I have a bad habit of getting too sentimentaly attached to a guitar once it's been in the fold for a while. I wouldn't fret none that it ain't a Fender, there's alot of guitars out there that I'd take over a Fender, and an LP is one of them. Everyone should own at least 1.

If you would have been outbid by only $4, would you now be wishing that you had bid higher? That is a scenario that I frequently find myself in.

Kinda reminds me of times I've been out and enjoying myself to much. During the 2 day hangover I say I'm never gonna drink too much like that again. But when the hangovers a memory and I'm having to much fun I do it all over again.

I had a 2003 danny gatton for about 3.5 years. I love the style of it and the neck shape was great. It just never sounded right; mushy low end and piercing high...no soul.

I held on to it for 3.5 years trying to make it work. Finally traded it for a 58 relic and never looked back..totally happy

That's one good thing about gear is that you can sell/trade it when you are ready to move on
