What can i do when i havent received my ebay item?

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows what my options are.
Basically i bought a guitar pedal on 15th March which i havent received yet... the seller seems to be a great seller with over 1000 positives, so i dont think i have been scammed.
However ive emailed twice to see whether they're able to give me any details concerning its status but i havent received a reply.

I know it hasnt been that long and some may think im impatient, but im finding it annoying that i cant even get a reply. (especially since they answered several of my emails very quickly before i paid concerning shipping costs and item details)

what if the pedal still doesnt show up... what can i do? i paid via paypal.

Go to Ebay's site map. Look for "Dispute Console". You will have two choices: Unpaid Item or Item Not Received. Follow "Item not Received". You will enter the auction number in a specific field. I suggest you read through the process guidelines too.

I had almost the same thing happen to me last year with an EBay purchase of a Squier Strat....a couple of weeks went by and no response to my E-Mails. I used a money order so I had all the guy's info.....did a reverse look-up on his phone number and called his house. I was polite but firm.....turned out he had been out of town for a few days (not much of an excuse but I let it go). Got the guitar a couple of days later.

Go to help on the ebay page and find the a-z listings. Look for "protection for buyers or item not recieved.Uner each heading there are steps to take. There is also a way to get the sellers phone #.If the seller has a high positive feedback # it's most likely just some kind of mistake. You can also file a complaint with paypal. i think the term they use is "dispute"

Are you located in the same country of the seller ? If not, the item could be held for custom checking. 2 weeks doesn't seem too long to worry about. In my opinion, you should begin to worry after a month. Some powerseller take long to answer email, but you usually get your stuff. Have you received a email confirming shipping date ? If nothing show up, you did good paying with Paypal : you'll get your money back.

In your My eBay page look for the auctions won and if you click the menu arrow on the right you'll see a Report Item Not Received option. I just had to do this because I bought an external hard drive 2 months ago and it just died. His auction stated that the manufacturer's warranty is in effect it isn't supposed to be one year. He hasn't answered on email nor responded to my calls. (you can also file a Significantly different claim in the same option.

Just a couple of points, though:
If you used PayPal,expecting to do a direct transfer from your checking acct, they may have sent your payment as an E Check, which takes several days to clear.
I've had that pleasure, myself.
Also, I sold a pedal which I sent out Priority Mail about 12/28/06 & the buyer didn't receive it until almost a month later.
The USPS advertises Priority Mail as 2 -3 days. Do you think they'd refund the difference between that & a method that's expected to take a month?
HELL NO!
They just made me look bad.
Often, once an item is sold, payment received & the item shipped, some people don't check back in with E Bay for a while.
They may not be blowing you off intentionally. So don't get too upset about it...yet.
Also, even a credit card or instant transfer will take at least 2 business days to clear once it's transferred into the seller's account.
Once the payment is cleared, the seller may have certain days when they can ship the item.
So two weeks is not uncommon to receive an item from a private seller on E bay.
And finally, I purchased a CD Box set from a seller in Scotland who's listing said Shipping to the US could take up to 8 weeks due to customs etc.
I waited 7 weeks & when I asked aboutthe item, they promptly shipped another, which I received in about 10 days.
But that said, there's not many things more nerve wracking than waiting to receive an item you bought on line.

Make sure you read ebay's and paypal's (if you used them) policies. We bought something small from a deadbeat who never shipped it. We had sent him several email and received replies varying from, I'll send it out tomorrow to I sent it out yesterday. We filed a dispute just before thirty days (that may be a paypal rule) and got our money back. The guy had the nerve to get upset and say "I thought we had a dialogue going". Some dialogue, we ask the same question and get a different lie everytime.

A funny story. My wife bought a back issue of rolling stone on ebay. It cost less than $5 incl. shipping. She never got it. The seller's feedback was good but, it said he was slow to ship. She had forgotten all about it. Over a year later that magazine showed up in our mailbox.

Get a dispute set up on PayPal - you only have something like 30 days from payment.
Ebay won't get you your money back - Paypal will.

Neither of those reasons is correct, you both received the item (which you freely admit) and it worked for 2 months (which you also admit), so it is not significantly different from what was described in the auction.
Ebay would be absolutely correct in not allowing your claim.
Someone tried exactly the same thing with me - only I was the seller. I explained that the buyer had received the item (she admitted it, just as you do) and that her feedback showed quite clearly that the item was as described in my auction, at the time that she received it. Ebay dismissed her claim on both counts.
If you are claiming on warranty, it has nothing whatever to do with ebay. It is strictly between you and the seller and/or manufacturer.
Did you get an invoice with the serial number of the drive shown? If not, you're very likely to get nothing out of it, not even from the manufacturer, because you would be unable to prove that the dead drive is the one that you bought.
