Hopefully tasteful CD release notification
I'd like to announce the release of a new CD of my compositions at: http://www.amazon.com/Monsterology-M...4453921&sr=8-1.
The title work for orchestra and electronics incorporates the mathematics of group theory, a field that I became interested in through my study of permutations. I first became fascinated with permutations through the finger excercises that I learned from Jack Peterson, a Berklee teacher who has been mentioned several times in this forum. It's funny how our creative paths are sometimes inspired by the most modest of impulses--in my case the desire to achieve finger independence. Also, to those of you familiar with the guitarist Pat Martino, his theories about symmetry can be explained in group theoretical terms.

Congratulations, and good luck!!!
I was hoping there would be some sample clips, but none were attached to the Amazon link. I did listen to a bit of your contribution to Sonic Circuits and that just made me want to hear more. Do you have a website with more info/music? Am always fascinated by the boundaries pushed by music and electronics. Seems as if it's ever expanding, just like the universe. |

Thanks, Neocaster, for the purchase. It's great to be able to get one's music out there. Here's a link to a video that my wife and I did. She's a painter who I strong-armed into the digital domain. The music originated with a 20 second sample of my breathing and heart beat recorded at a mic distance of 5 feet in an anechoic chamber. I did a spectral analysis on the sample then manipulated the different frequencies in pitch and time.
Here's the youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm5qh6YbP1I
