I always wanted one of those surfcasters, but let's face it: I am too cheap to spend a grand on one...

It looks disturbingly good on a Stat everything else looks like a birth control guitar.

Italia has a website, but it's kind of hard to dig up, and it doesn't work very well.

I agree that the color only looks good on a strat...or maybe a Jazzmaster. There it looks classic and beautiful. The others are just trying to imitate that look.
If I had to pick one it would be the Vox. Those Charvel guitars seem to self-consciously "retro" to me. The Italia has that going on too... I think it's trying to look like an old Supro. As for that Les Paul...*gag* |

This thread takes me back.
+1 for foam green strats.
Way back when I was just starting to play, my dad and I went shopping for my first electric. He didn't want to spend huge $$$, just in case this guitar thing was "just a phase". But he also didn't want to buy a cheap piece of crapola. So we went to a little shop that had a lot of used/vintage stuff. Well, there was a mid sixties strat in seafoam green hanging on the wall. I wanted...no wait....NEEDED that guitar. There were two problems though. Dad hated the color, and the $800 price tag was a bit steep for the situation (This was in '84. Imagine the sticker price today). So we ended up with another guitar (an old Carvin LP-shaped number...I still have it and play it often). Still, I never stopped jonesing for a foam green strat. Heck, perhaps that'll be my next partscaster project. Later...
