I was playing this guitar, which I still have..I bought it new in 1966, at W.T. Grants for $89.00. It was on lay away for almost a year while I made payments on it. I also had a Silvertone single pick up with the amp in the case...

I was six and listening to Donny Osmond records while playing a red plastic kidee guitar with nylon strings that you could really tune. My sister is 8 years older than me, thank God that I discovered her Beatles 45's.
I also had the Seseme Street record wih the songs "I Love Trash" and "Rubber Ducky".

I chose 1970 for this thread, because that was the year I became aware of pop music at the age of 6-7. The Partridge Family really got me into it later that year, and certainly by 1971. The Beatles followed for me in '72 via "Sgt. Pepper's" (still my fave, but they didn't make a bad record, IMHO) and then the Stones in '73. From there, it was Zep, The Who and Clapton in '76 and then everything after that. The '70s were really a great time to get into Rock music, I mean, music from the '60s and '70s is STILL in heavy rotation. I doubt very seriously a similar percentage of today's music will be played 30+ years from now, but I could be wrong.

1970...
What's the statute of limitations on admittin' to stuff anyways? I was in high school... had a Silvertone H815 acoustic, a translucent green Univox ES335 copy and a National Westwood amp... we had funky garage bands... we were bad... played Creedence, Santana and stuff of the time. I was always tryin' to get everyone to play blues... nobody understood. I still have the Silvertone H815 acoustic... I think I'll go play some blues on it... Damn I feel old now...
