1973. I realize again, what a great singer Randy Meisner is, his departure was surely hard for the Eagles. "Take it to the limit", uff Glen Frey cannot mimic Randy.
But: the guitars sound awfully. Imagine this song with Telecasters

They must have hired Joe Walsh because he sings through his nose in that register.

I can't remember ever hearing that song.

I love that song. I have to sort of grit my teeth through "Tequila Sunrise" these days, but otherwise that's my favorite Eagles LP.

That was a great album. Anyone who doesn't have it should get it. I like the way that some songs bleed into each other, like it's opening up a new chapter.

Indeed. I can't figure out why they have Glenn sing that one now. Why not Timothy or Don?

Felder got pushed out of the group by Henley and Frey, who have hire/fire power over all the other guys I believe.

Yes. I know they have the power to call the shots. I just thought they could make a better choice of singer for that song. All things considered, their current set list spreads the songs out pretty generously amongst all the singers.
