4 more gigs!!! (NONE OF WHICH ARE WEDDINGS!)

The trio I have decided to expand, now that my days in the 7-piece are closing in, have been learning material like crazy...

The other night alone...(Well 2 more rehearsals before the next gig to get em' right)

- East Bound - Jerry Reed
- Dumas Walker - Kentucky Headhunters
- Fast as You - Dwight Yokum
- Tuff Enuff - Fabulous T-Birds
- Best of all possible worlds - The little willies
- Day Tripper - the Beatles
- Willie the Wimp - SRV
- TROUBLE - Travis Tritt
- Good Heated Woman - Waylon
- Red house - Hendrix
- Cab Driver - The Mills Brothers (Made it sound like Empty Arms by SRV)
- Get Down Tonight - Don't Laugh, it's a sarcastic version I know you'd like
- Sweet Emotion / Walk this Way - Aerosmith

I'm lovin it...Thanks for the advice guys...

Are you in northeastern Pennsylvania, or are you from Northeast, Pennsylvania (which is actually in the northwestern corner of the state)?

Interesting mix of songs. Sounds like fun - enjoy.

When I first saw the thread title I really tyhrough you were going to announce maybe not so happy news about you and your spouse. So I am a bit relieved.

Congrats.

Now if ya want a song that really gets the ladies a whoopin' and a hollerin' try:

I'll Drink Your Bath Water
or
Downhearted

Both by B.B. King.

NEPA,

I can relate. I just got done with the function band I've been with for 15 years. Man, I feel free. Started learning all kinds of new tunes and loving it.
Have fun with your new found musical freedom.

Northeastern PA, "NEPA" as we call it. 2 Hours North of Philly - 2 Hours West of NYC.

Hey, Great list!
What is your secret to learning the leads to EB&D, Red House, and the Aerosmith tunes so fast? Those songs would take me months to learn all those licks.

The secret is....

Spend 3 years convincing a friend who is 1000x better than you to finally join a trio with you, and then switch to bass until you find a bass player, so you can go back to Acoustic/rhythm guitar and then start taking lessons from him...

here's his guitar...American strat body which was snapped in half. He resurrected the body, put a Mighty Mite Lefty Strat neck on, and I told him I would buy screws for the jack plate, but that's a different story...

Technically speaking, that should be "well-heated woman." Good-heated woman is incorrect.

Oh yeah, and have fun with the newly expanded group!

Gary -

Just as long as you're still playing Kilcoyne's on July 8th - that's when I'm coming to see you!

Absolutely, brother - I'm not turning down that invitation! When it gets closer PM me a copy of your set list and I'm sure we can find a song or two on there.

She's a well-heated woman in love with an air-conditioned man
She loves him in spite of his coil and his high powered fan
With low condensation they'll climate control all they can

You learnt all those songs in one night.. That's more songs than I can play from beginning to end after 4 years of playing.

Well...We all had a CD of everything for about a week to work on, then rehearsed and put them all together.

This is a big reason why I'm departing ways with the other group. This has NEVER happened in 8 years!
