Ahhhhh...Nanci Griffith! Love her playing, love her writing, love her voice. What's not to love?

I guess I have to add a few others to the list, and "second" some others:

Robbie Robertson
Sam Moore
Buddy Guy
Dr. John
Clarence Fountain
Emmylou
Guy Clark
Zimmy

I don't think there are any. Take two of my favorites Emmylou Harris and Neil Young. I love these people to death but I have to admit even they have stepped in it now and then. In fact I think Neil enjoys stepping in it and tracking it back in the house just to watch people react.

Emmylou on the other hand might pick a song now and then that she really shouldn't mess with and I think she had a tendancy to be overwhelmed by her producers thoughout her career untill very recently. She always has the best intentions though.

So I think to say anybody is beyond criticism is ridiculous. Except for maybe Nick Lowe cause he's The Jesus Of Cool.

i live in fear of the minute you think someone can do no wrong. somehow it always seems to directly proceed something like "i just called to say i love you" or the bbc ad version of "perfect day".
