...go,e-merlin,Go!!!...
...Excellent Knowledge...one of the funniest things I EVER saw was on the Carson show...I watched the show religiously,as I KNEW if something went wrong,Gloriously RIGHT,it would be one of the funniest moments I would ever see...one night,he had on the actor and singer,Ed Ames, who is Native American Spirit...Johnny asked him to throw an axe at this board that showed a drawing of a cowboy type...Ed threw...BEDLAM!!!,FOR OVER FIVE MINUTES...Ed went over to take the axe off,but Johnny, his understanding of this truly perfect moment, didn't allow it...it ended up neatly at the zipper, looking like an awfully good mood...

Ok, I'm not trying to piss anyone off here but is someone like Larry the Cable Guy somebody that's going to hold water over the years or is he more like a passing trend of redneck sayings? I mean does this guy deserve to be on our tdpri list of top comedians of all time? Maybe he is, what do I know
Again, everyone is entitled to their opinions and I'm just trying to say what I think without offending. |

...not like Andy...
...yes,most assuredly not like Andy Griffith, who had a glue-like grace holding Mayberry together, and expressing small town knowledge in a surehanded, proud, yet self-deprecating way...no dummy there...also,his "What It Was,Was Football" is hilarious...

Stephen Colbert, Conan O'Brien, and the Dave Chapelle. He's for real-he might be a genius. He's pretty challenging, but the guy is smart. Even if you don't like his show or his stand up, check out the Inside the Actors Studio episode.

Chris Rock
Jerry Seinfeld Bill Hicks Richard Pryor Rodney Dangerfield Mitch Hedberg Shelly Berman Bob Newhart Sam Kineson Robin Williams Steven Wright I think these are the best that ever lived. Larry the Cable Guy is damn good too, IMO. I don't think he's a passing fad. I think his humor will stand the test of time because he speaks for everybody in his routines. I appreciate Lenny Bruce for paving the road, but I don't find him all that funny.

People will most definitely come." |

Congress of Wonders?!
Someone else remembers them? In their day they were funny as all get out. I have one of their albums and saw them on TV once around 1967 doning the Robin Hood spoof, "Robin Head."
Firesign Theater The Goons Monty Python The Marx Brothers The Not Ready for Prime Time Players The SCTV Crew The "Whose Line is it Anyway?" crew The Black Pack I like improv and I like ensemble comedy. Most stand up guys leave me cold. In their early days The Beatles were incredibly funny. I loved Red Skelton as a kid, but I haven't watched any of his stuff in years. Jack Benny, as well. |

Bob Hope
To me, he is the greatest that ever lived. Not only was he funny, but his work with the USO for almost his entire life in support of our military troops all over the world, put him in a league all of his own. |
