Toby Keith Guitar

I was watching the movie Broken Bridges with Toby Keith and was wondering why he would use a classical guitar over a steel string guitar and what model Fender classical guitar it is. I thought some of the good people on this forum might know. Thanks for any help. Ralph

Toby Keith can barely play a guitar. (but I realize you might not mean the question that way lol!)

That soundtrack was produced by six different producers, one of who was Toby Keith. Vince Gill, Emory Gordy, Richard Barrett, and a few others also produced and one of those guys (like Vince who is so good) could have had that vision and not Toby.

I haven't heard this soundtrack or seen the movie so I don't know if every song has the combination you refer to above, or only one, but those songs weren't recorded at the same time or in the same studios and there are several steel, guitar, acoustic and mandolin players on those songs so who knows whose guitar you may be hearing, they probably all have at least one Fender in their rack, and they have lots of other guitars as well. I wish I could be more helpful here.

i haven't seen/heard it either, but given toby's association with scotty emerick and scotty's willie style on classical guitar, it might be him on the track???

Nobody's had better laughs at Toby's expense than me.
Nobody - except The Dixie Chicks maybe.
The guy got stuck in the middle of a lot crap that we
don't discuss in this house.
IF he's a decent human being I wish him all the best.
and I mean it...
I think he really "got played".

Looks like there's plenty of living proof that if he ever fails to make a living holding a guitar he can always fall back on being a critic.

My reason for this thread was not to bash Toby Keith ( I don't care about him one way or the other) it was to see if anyone on this forum knew what model Fender classical guitar he was playing in the movie, if you want to bash him fine just start your own thread. I don't care if he can play the guitar I just want to know what it is.

Why shouldn't this group of "know it alls" bash Toby...he's got money, fame, a damn fine singing voice - personally I love his "Blue Moon" and "Dream Walkin'" albums and can write some killer tunes. So he doesn't play...so what ?...Neither did Elvis.

I've seen Toby playing that Fender Classical for several years now, go back about 3 or so and he and Scotty Emerick are using them on a CMT "Unplugged" show. Kinda a cool guitar too...I like nylon sting stuff for fingerstyle pickin.
