Building behind my office burns....guitars coming out of the attic dormer!

Only in Nashville....

The three-story house behind the office building where I work just burned yesterday. This is just behind Music Row, where all of the 1940s and 1950s houses have long ago been converted to offices and recording studios. This house that burned was a studio. I have never been inside of it.

The outside of it looks unharmed, except for the areas above the windows....burned and chared.

As I pulled out of our parking garage to go to lunch today, I noticed two men on the roof next to a dormer window that must be part of the attic, or maybe the 3rd floor (not sure). The frame around the window was severely burned, and the glass was broken out. But what caught my attention was about 15 guitar cases spread out across the roof! It's not a very steep pitch, so all of these cases where just laying around. I watched for a moment and there was someone inside handing the guitars out to the two men on the roof.

As I stopped to watch, one of the men opened the case to take out what appeared to be a Gibson J-45. It was too far away for me to tell if the guitar was damaged, or how old it might have been. He put it back in the case and set it aside.

I drove off to get lunch. When I came back, they had all of the cases on the ground....about 25 in all. I parked and went back into the office. About 15 minutes later I walked over to ask about the guitar, but they must have loaded them up and left. No one was there.

I hope you took their number plate just in case.
