PBS - James Taylor Tribute

Yeah, I'd be lost without PBS.
"The Best Television On Television" and once again they exceeded
ALL expectations with the "Music Cares - Person Of The Year" Show.
Which was won by James Taylor. For those of us out there that love
"Austin City Limits" and "Mountain Stage" and "Sound Stage" and
"Roy Orbison - A Black & White Evening" this one's a REAL dinger Baby!
Allison Kraus and Jerry Douglas doing "Carolina On My Mind" is surreal...
Keith Urban - who was sicker than well... - doing "Country Road" unreal,
and who was "that babe"? gee...
The Show is so amazin' I had to re-pledge so I'd have it on the DVD.
It's on "rotation" 'cause it's pledge-time.
Make sure You see this one Y'all - You'll thank me.
I am absolutely blown away by the Allison Krauss - Jerry Douglas pairing.
Don't forget to pledge - We need more of THIS KIND OF MUSIC!!!!!

I missed it on PBS, but I was at Wal-Mart yesterday, and they had the DVD for 17 bucks... I couldn't pass it up!

I caught part of it. I can't believe no one is raving about the beautiful vocal stylings and sweet harmonica playing from "The Boss"

Yeah, that didn't work for me at all. It's like he was trying too hard or something, but, then, he often sounds like that to me.

Not trying to knock the guy. I respect him, but I have never been a big fan. It seemed to me like he picked "Millworker" to go along with his "poet of the people" thing, but he sledgehammered it, in the opinion of my wife and myself.

Oddly enough, two songs I like by him are ballads: "Until I Fall Behind" and "Secret Garden."

Overall, though, I enjoyed the show.

Mike
