Decided to bring this over here since it's a

more general topic.
Vintage acoustic jonesing (A long yarn)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I knew I should have never played them. First up was a '55 00018. The sweetest finger-picking guitar I have ever had on my knee. A little worn but in a good way. No cracks, all original. The shop had a '60 also very clean. Didn't play it.(forced myself not to) Next up was a '45 J-45. Heavy breathing just writing about it. The one! Velvet tone. Spruce and Mahogany heaven. Again a little worn but no splits all original. Absolutely beautiful. Obviously these guitars are not cheap. I never could or would spend fresh money on them. But....... I have a collection of vintage and not so vintage amps that are not used much anymore and the thought has crossed my mind. Damnit.
Maybe tonight I should just restring my '69 Favilla and my '93 D-16H and try to forget about that majestic Marty and the Gibby of the Gods.
Anyone else had a hard time letting go vintage amps or other long time "keepers" for a chance at "The One" (if there's such a thing)?
