John Mark Karr......Someone help me out, Im lost here.

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/LegalCenter/story?id=2355252

OK, whats the deal? From the JonBenet Ramsey investigation, we have the following:

- Palm print
- Foot print
- DNA

If there's all this "whodunnit?" nonsense with this guy, TEST THE PALM, FOOT AND DNA AND GET IT OVER WITH. We're talking about a couple of days worth of work which, I might add, should have been done before we ever extradited the suspect.

Can cops be this stupid?

The DNA evidence was compromised, so they can't use it.

the investigation was supremely botched from the git-go. i read one story that called it the worst police work on a major case in history.

Oh, you mean Pee Wee Harvey Oswald Bates?

He's quite creepy. Needs not to see the light of day ever again.

You know weather he did it or not, yuo have to wonder about parents who would let a 6 year old dress up like that. I hope it's him so it can be put to rest, but I don't think he did it.

I don't think he did it, and at the same time I don't go for this "compromised DNA" stuff, either. Those DNA samples should be digitially preserved, we're not working from a pitri dish (so a scientist said on CNN). I still go for the theory the parents did it. Like the guy said, you're dressing up a five year old in makeup and having her dance around? Weird.

I think Karr must be guilty of something somewhere along the line, so let's just lock him up...just...because.

I've read that only part of the DNA is degraded. Whatever, I think they grabbed him while they had the chance and if there's a case to be made against him, they're just starting.

I think he was involved, but I think the mother knew something too. She covered for somebody, and took it to the grave.

I am not quite sure how they have connected him. I am reserving judgement on this one...he could EASILY be delusional (well, he is obviously delusional) which affects his judgement, either way.

He is in custody, so one must assume that there is strong evidence for holding him. After ten years and multiple screw-ups, it had better be more than a confession from a nut case.

From what I've read of his history and reputation he should be locked up regardless.

Jinky's! If Scooby and the gang took this one over, we'd know in 25 minutes what happened. And they would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddlesome kids...

He'll go back to thailand and become a girl (I guess that was the plan originally) I'd ruther have sent all that money for flights and whatnot to some granny who hadn't seen her kids in awhile...

If you try to make sense of the world you'll just get cornfused and the world won't even notice. From the looks of things, I'm pretty sure my kids could whip his @ss if he came in our neighborhood.... one thing for sure, he'd come in but he wouldn't be going back out... they have a word for guys like him here.... MULCH.

Well, I'm just shocked to find out he's not the right guy.

Now hopefully the media can get back to important issues, like finding that girl in Aruba.

    Blackcat69,

You got it brutha'. Except I wouldn't want to have to support him with our tax dollars. I guess that only leaves one alternative...the same one all pedophiles deserve IMO.

i have no idea if he did it or not but here's what i think happened.

basically i think he was up on child porn charges, skipped the country to thailand where he was done for...whatever. something disgusting and abhorent. he then decided that rather than face the death penalty or a life rotting in a thai jail he'd fess up to the weird child-in-make-up killing thing to be extradited back to the US where he could at least guarantee a fairly decent level of justice. smart move by someone. he may have done it he may not, either way he was out of that thai jail.

i agree though he doesn't half look like a partent's worst nightmare doesn't he?

Couldn't the Thai police have done the DNA swab and spare everyone the media spectacle? Maybe the Boulder cops figured that since they blundered the investigation from the get go, they should be more thorough at this point? (Scratching head with annoyed expression.) I made the mistake of flipping on Nancy Grace last night for 30 seconds. It almost seemed like she was mad that this guy is not the killer.

That's my theory as well. Thailand is the world's largest marketplace for pedophilia, and the guy was a TEACHER there! He probably did things that were disgusting even by Thai standards and got caught. The Thais didn't want to have to pay the expenses for jailing the guy (and face potential pressure from the US gov't to treat him humanely), and Karr, who probably already had a JoBnet obsession fed by some kind of inside access to information, saw a confession as his way out of the country, knowing full well that he'd never be charged in the U.S. The Thai prosecutor probably made up the story as part of their "agreement."

Now the question is: If he is released on bail, how long will be survive before someone gets to him?

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...

WTF do these cats always have three names? John Mark Karr, Mark David Chapman, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Wayne Gacy. The first time somebody introduces them to me using a middle name, I'm making an anomymous call to the authorities.

Well, neocaster, it's a way of distinguishing them from others to avoid mistaken reprisals. Go to Google and search John Karr, then do John Mark Karr.

Smart move by both the Thais and Karr (a real excrescence, by the way). Karr, clearly a huge attention whore, gets his fifteen minutes of fame and avoids spending the rest of his life in a southeast Asian prison. The Thais get rid of the creep and avoid a bright light being shone on their prisons. Not that life behind bars stateside seems like a tea party, but having read Midnight Express and Transit Point Moscow I'm inclined to believe that the prison experience here is a satisfactory alternative to that abroad.

I'm trying to make light of a situation that there's really no light to be made of... Every once in a while we see one of these "people" on the news, and I won't speak for you all, only for myself. The worst things some people do are only compounded by the fact that they make decent people want to do indecent things to them.
