How many of you can "Two Step"?

While I was in Austin I noticed that not many people were dancing at Redd Volkaert's shows even though he was imploring people to.
So how many TDPRI'ers can dance? I can't do the "Two Step" or else I would've. The GI we took to Redd's show said he could but he chickened out. hee hee

Two stepped at a wedding last weekend. The cool thing about the two step is that it takes three beats of music, so it shifts on and off the beat in 2/4 and 4/4 time.

My wife and I had a Cajun band at our wedding 12 years ago, and we learned to do a Cajun waltz and 2-step so that we could dance at the wedding. Near the end of the reception I played fiddle and sang with the band, I think we did "Tous Les Deux Pour La Meme" and "Lacassine Special". O ye yaie!

I can still waltz and two-step OK. A couple of months ago I had a Cajun CD on, and my wife and I started dancing in the family room. Our daughters got a big kick out of that, they were hysterical.

Leon, are a Texas two-step and a Cajun two-step the same?

I don't think they are. One of my office mates Cajun dances, and I'll ask him. I've seen Cajun dancing, and remember it looked different.

there is a great song by a dutch band called (translated) muscians don't dance

    lyrics are roughly this

    muscians don't dance
    unlike others
    muscians don't dance
not even for there own fun
    muscians don't dance
    not even for show

They prefer to be on the guest list and talk throughout
    muscians don't dance
they stand at the back and talk out of their *ss
    complaining about the the sound
with their hairs all messed up

They think the opening act blows
and the main act just okay

pretty rough translation but you get the idea, I love that songs since it's so true.

I'm gonna try to find someplace that teaches it. Seems to me it's a pretty good "ice-breaker" whereever there's country music + pretty women around. ;-)

I'll do the obligatory slow dance with my wife. Other than that, I don't dance at all. I stink at it and end up feeling kinda stupid. Oddly enough, I always wished I could. I do enjoy watching others dance though, especially when they're really good at it. The 2 step seems kinda simple, maybe if I found the right teacher, I could learn.

ANYONE who lives or has lived in Texas SHOULD know how to Two-Step! It's the first thing I learned when I first moved down here.

Yeah, I was wishing I knew how to do it. They haven't even had a country music radio here in NJ for awhile. I found out that the music is alive and well in Texas.
But I had an idea from watching CMT et al.
