Easy flying after all .......

After the posts last week about the flight problems at airports here in the UK i'm back and it all went OK.
As told by everyone everywhere we all reported VERY early at Gatwick airport to be queued here, then there, then back over here to be told "go away and come back 2 hours before your flight" -- er, that would be the normal time then - hmmmmmm.
Anyway, we did that and just breezed straight through, there is enough information regarding what you can and can't take on board so we got straight on and were only 40 minutes late taking off and thats almost normal here anyway !, the pilot then made up 20 minutes on the flight so all in all it went fine.
We got back yesterday right on time and best of all the SKB stood up to the journey in the hold.
I think its going to be a fact for a while to come, and after talking to some of the staff there, you will HAVE to check your instruments in, at least if you are in the UK, .... maybe its time to start a flight case company ?

Good news

Thanks for letting us know BJ. I'm glad it all went so smoothly for you. You know, it was on the local news that a woman travelling by bus from London to Aberdeen (Megabus) an 11 hour journey, was not allowed to take any liquid on board !! How over the top is that ?
Anyway, glad you made it home safe and sound and all went well.

Thanks !!

It was all pretty easy really although i was made to throw a box of cigarettes and a disposable lighter into a trash can before passport control and was made to feel a little stupid in front of everyone which made me uncomfortable but not as mad as when i finally got "airside" and was allowed to buy a new box and lighter and carry them onboard !!! -- ah well.

Home now and time to fit the Keystones that arrived just as i left !
