Ouch! What a day today.
Looks like it's all over for Floyd. I've not been the least bit comfortable with his team's stratedgy. Like letting a break away gain 29 min to take the Yellow from him.
Took it again he did and he just might wear it all the way to Paris. Then Floyd can reflect on his way too conservative approach to his, probably, last tour. Paul Green |

Agreed, such a shame to see the yellow jersey fall so far behind like that...
on the other hand, what a ride by Rasmussen! interesting to see how he goes in stage 17 today, after a ride like that.

Three climbs done...
....and Landis is at the front. He may not end up the day in yellow, but as long as he doesn't bonk again he will have brought himself back into contention.

Paul, Paul, ye of little faith
you said: "Then Floyd can reflect on his way too conservative approach to his, probably, last tour."
Anyone can have a bad day, but not everyone can have a good day like Floyd made today. Tomorrow looks like a routine ride. Looks like Floyds team took it easy today, maybe they can help him out tomorrow. Then it's a time trial... I heard Floyd's pretty good at time trials. Come on, whadaya think? Care to pick a winner right now? |

Wow. Gee guys, my wife and I make an effort to not watch the tour or hear the results until we watch the OLN show after dinner. Guess that's out of the bag now.
But WOW. The time trial should be MASSIVE! I still think Floyd's been too conservative in his attack of this thing though. Paul Green |

You know, you have the power to lock this sub-forum until after you see the race in the evening each day. Of course, we could just start another thread in the Bad Dog Cafe to talk about it.

Oh, its not a problem. I was just thinking when I opened this post about "yesterdays" stage that I could be seeing info about "todays" stage. I knew to not look, but couldn't wait to see.
We have friends that watch it early every day and we tell them "don't tell us what happened!" It's all cool. Paul Green |

Even knowing the outcome won't spoil the excitement of todays ride by Floyd, it really has to be one of the all time great moments in the TDF. I saw it this AM and will enjoy it again tonite with a beer in hand. |
