Now, then--to address your question: Yes! Henceforth, consider yourself a fellow Yank! Name a pub, and we'll get together and drink to both great nations and to your citizenship in each! (If dual citizenship was good enough for Sir Winston Churchill--whose mother, Jennie, was American--it's certainly good enough for you and your auspicious birthdate, Steve. Joel

Thanks for the good wishes folks, and the insights on what the fourth means to you.
I know there was a big thread on this a while ago but turning thirty has been great so far. I can't remember most of my twenties (most of which can be blamed on english and belgian ales) but intend to make some good memories from my thirties, and hopefully remain a little more lucid to enjoy em! |

I was born on July 14, 1953.
During the MLB all-star game. The nurse came out into the waiting, where the game was being played over the radio, it was the 7th inning. The nurse told my father, that my mother was ready to give birth. Now according to legend (or rumor), my baseball-addicted father yelled out: "Can't she wait two more innings"!? Really don't know if the story is true or not (my 85-year old father isn't saying), but it sound like something he'd do though. BTW: I'm glad the game didn't go into extra innings, or he'd have hated me for life!! Steve |
