Just got back from the Masters(very long)

My brother and I got to use the "family" tix for the first time this year, and whoa!!! Those guys are GUUUUD!!!!!
A few things off the top of my head:
They look bigger on TV-except for Phil, who really is, and not in a good way. His wife's a MILF. Chad Campbell's wife is stupid hot.
TV doesn't come CLOSE to what the course really looks like. It's gorgeous, it's damn near vertical, and there is no way I'd even bother to try to putt there-the greens are tougher than you can imagine in your worst nightmares. A basketball court would be slower, and postage stamps are bigger than the landing areas you HAVE to hit to score. The fairways are cut like the greens you play on, and the greens--oops, already mentioned that. The administration and organization of the tournament is superb. The concessions are cheap.
The merchandise is regularly priced, and great quality, as is the service.
Car rentals in Georgia that week are 400% of regular price, as are the hotel rooms near Augusta (we stayed with my grandmother 10 min away). That week in Augusta is the largest concentration of private jet aircraft in the world at any time(fact). Lotta rich people.
I must have talked to dozens of perfect strangers like they were long time friends. Folks are just that way there. All that talk about the changes is just media hype.
If you can play, you'll do well, regardless of your driving length--the long hitters took alot of second shots out of the woods. You win by hitting fairways, greens, and putts in the 20's just like anyone playing the game anywhere. (Although I watched Tiger hit 360 on his drive on #1 Friday) He didn't win. Speaking of Tiger, if you want to see him, watch TV, cuz his gallery is large and clausterphobic. Phil's too. Everybody loves a winner.
Some of the smaller guys like Katayama and Maruyama are the ones who impressed me the most--they can hit the ball just like the mooses.
Best of all, the weather channel told my brother and I to run up to Atlanta while it rained Sat. in Augusta, and we played 36 holes on a Championchip layout at Stone Mtn, without really missing anything. Hope I get to do it again. Dogg

Yeah, it looked like Phil has put on a few pounds, but he's got a way to go before he looks like Daly, Herron or Stadler.

I don't suppose you were around to see Katayama hole that bunker shot?

I didn't see any of it, but do gallery-morons still vie to be the first to shriek "IN THE HOLE!!!!", or is there a new cringe-worthy catch phrase?

Well, there's always "You da MAN!"

I think "Happy Gilmore" was inspired by those people.

Watched on TV - until the last few holes it was one of the best Masters since Olazabal last won - waiting for Phil to blow it and let Ollie win again - but then Phil M is a much better player now, and more fun to watch than Tiger - at least he seems to enjoy it!
