Old Gibson Nick Lucas acoustic (pics included)

Hello everyone,
I had posted recently trying to find some possible resources for helping me determine who might have owned this piece of history. The guitar belonged to my Grandpa and he bought it at a pawn shop here in Cincinnati back in the 40's or 50's. He was told that it was pawned by a country western musician that needed money to get back home. The interesting thing about this guitar is that it has someone's initials in goldleaf on the back of the headstock, under the lacquer. The same initials appear on the outside of the original case. Here are some pics:

I was wondering... on a collector's piece like this, would the uniqueness of the initials add to or subtract from the value of the instrument? Just curious... Anyway, i hope you enjoy the pics.

i volunteer to take that off your hands, i mean, what with all the stress of trying to solve that riddle and all... maybe you should just give it to a needy, broke-ass air force sergeant :D

If you can find out who it belonged to it certainly would help, especially if it was someone who was famous, if only in one area. Otherwise, I would leave them alone, because it's an important part of the history of the instrument. That guy's family may be looking for it.
