Best Tascam 4 Track Cassette Portastudio
My tascam 4 track crapped out and was looking at getting another one. The new ones seem kinda cheap to me and the older ones seem like they have a bit more quality. anyone have any idea which models have the best sound quality?? I couldnt really find any information online that compares models or even really lists all the models.
I also wouldnt mind hearing some products from other brands but i have other tascam stuff and feel a bit more comfortable with it.... thanks...-John |

My vote is for the 644. I have the 688 (the 8 track cassette recorder, which is the ultimate cassette-based studio EVER). I also have a DP-01FXCD (the new Tascam digital Portastudio), a Tascam 564 (mini disc 4 track, which is awesome) and a 424 (a less featureful version of the 464). Tascam gear is great. I began with a Porta One in 1988.

The Tascam DP01FX
I got two for Christmas last year. They are great. I guess the new version has the CD built in and the would have been cool.
Needless to say, I only use one of them so the other is available. I was going to see if i could gang them up and get four track recording simultaneous. Ends up, I didn't want to bother with it since the two channels work fine for now. |
