Over the course of 6 months the tuneomatic style bridge on my Jazzmaster has allowed me to reach new heights

Please explain to me what the reasoning is for cranking the action that high, because I seriously want to know what would inspire someone to do this.

If you like the tone, lower the pickups and then lower the string height. A better action would make that way better to play.

I want to lower the pickups a bit to better match volume with my strat

That's going WAY sharp even before you touch the fret high.
