all prejudice aside
all prejudice aside...i know this is subjective but what do all of you feel as of right now is the best selling guitar in the rock and blues idiom at the pro and semi pro level....even if it's another brand...

I'm not sure that any of us can "feel" what the best-selling guitar is. It's a numbers game, and with the exception of that freak guy on the bad CBS drama show, I don't think many of us can feel numbers so much.
I bet with a little research that someone could find out the answer. It would be interesting to know. Fender's said for a long time that Strats outsell Teles by a good margin, but I forget what that margin is.

My guess is either an Squier Tele or Strat or the Epiphone Les Paul or SG. Good price point makes them appealing to beginners and long time players alike. Plus they're classic and cool!

If you're breaking it down into versions (meaning '50's Classic different than American standard or whatever) I have no idea, but if you're referring to a general model across the board, as in "Telecaster" or "Les Paul" my guess would be the Stratocaster.

just curious really...i remember in the 80's it seemed that every guitar player i saw was playing a strat....then in the 90's i started to see a lot of 335's...i should have worded it differantly ,like what does everyone feel that the most played guitar is now

Well, for blues, I'd say the most popular guitars are Strats, Teles, and Gibbys equipped with P-90s.
For the P-90 Gibbys, either old (or reissue) LP Goldtops, old ES330s, old ES175s or old (or reissue) ES5s. Next would be the humbucker equipped ES Gibbys. |
