PA/cab sensitvity/SPL question

I hear that the cab's sensitivity/SPL rating is as important as any other figure, is there a significant difference in a 95 dB rating vs. a 98 dB rating? I know pro-level cabs are around 105-110 dB. [EDIT: check that, Meyers are 140-145 dB!] You PAY for that SPL, too! Would it be an upgrade to go from 95 dB to 98 dB speaker cabs?

Thanks! Adam

3 dB is an audible difference in almost any audio measurement. (Move the sliders up 3dB on you mixing board). But given that sensitivity measurements aren't really standardized I don't think you can be sure you would hear a huge difference in SPL. Just based on that measurement it's probably an incremental change. (Might be a better idea for other reasons.)
