Hey telenator----
Great songs!!
I heard a guy called Bruce Bruno sing 'Stand by Me 'when he was with Ronnie Hawkins & the Hawks in 1963 and I've been playing it ever since I think Levon, Robbie ,& Garth had something to do with it All the best Mike |

That's cool mmmosborne.
I changed the key on Rocket Man to Am so I can sing it! The chords work out real well on the guitar in Am. I also do Stand by Me with one of my bands and we have drastically altered it from the original. Stand by Me was recorded way too fast for my liking. It's one of those songs that sounds awesome when you slow it way down and sing it with a lot of soul. The band plays the song in one long creciendo, starting out at a whisper and then building in tiny increments all the way to the end. Judging by the number of girls on the dance floor, I'd say we're doing something right.

When I'm just sitting around, I like to play and sing a lot of Jimi ("Hey Joe," "Castles Made Of Sand," "Little Wing," "One Rainy Wish," "1983 [A Merman I Should Turn To Be]," "Angel," "Drifting," just to name a few--heck, I even like to noodle around with "Third Stone From The Sun"), as well as some Elvis Costello, The Who, Elmore James, The Police, SRV, Ry Cooder, early-ZZ Top, The Band, and many others...just whatever comes to mind.
But mostly, I play and sing my own tunes--ones I've written or am writing. Not to sound egotistical, but I enjoy playing and singing my own tunes. Joel |

Theme From "Barney" (I love you, you love me...ICK!)
Row Row Row Your Boat The Alphabet Song Old Macdonald Had A Farm Tonight, the Bottle Let Me Down Family Tradition (Hank Jr.) Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys. ...as I'm struggling to entertain a 2 year old audience. Barney theme is actually starting to sound palitable on the B-Bender.

Lotsa different stuff, lotsa noodling (hard habit to break)
The constants (this month, anyway): Generic 12-bar blues, usually shuffled Longhaired Country Boy Can't You See Lonesome, On'ry, and Mean Your Cheatin' Heart I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Baby, What Do You Want Me To Do? Amazing Grace Peace In The Valley Dumb Ol' Girl (an ever-changing original) Outlaw's Breakdown ('nother original)

If I'm noodling on the acoustic, I'll inevitably fall into:
"Itchykoo Park" "I Don't Want To Spoin The Party" "I'm Looking Through You" "Blackbird" "Tattoo" "Amazing Journey" "Tangerine" and whatever other britpop favorites pop into my mind. |

Most of the time I noodle but when I do play songs-
Electric: Monk's Dream St. Thomas All Blues These are three favorites right now. I usually play various jazz standards chord-melody style and mix in a few originals. Acoustic and usually harmonica: Long May You Run and other Neil Young. Girl From the North Country and other Bob Dylan. Forget Her- Jeff Buckley Various Originals

I was just doing some random noodling on the flattop today to see what would come out, and I gravitated toward an old familiar tune that I couldn't quite identify. I finally realized it was "Mother Goose" by Jethro Tull. I bet I haven't heard that song in 15-20 years.
