Never can be too much discussion on Buck's contributions to Teles, songwriting, and as band leader.

Bill Hullett started a fantastic thread on "Buck, Don, & Teles......." way back in 2005.

Waay back in 1974 while I was a student at Ariz State I ws a waiter in a fancy restaurant. Up drives this big ol Caddy with longhorns on the hood/pistols for door handles and sivler dollars embedded in the dash. Out stepsa Buck Owens and I get to wait on him. absolute gentleman....quiet not flashy (cept for the caddy lol). Anyway the house bought him a 70 dollar bottle of wine.(big buks back then) When I presented the wine to him to pour a small taste like you do......he says "No thanks I don't want wine" so I did the right thing...recorked it and went out and put it in my car for later.

cheers ce24

Very nice, really enjoy your playing on both guitar and pedal. A very good tribute. Buck and the gang would be proud.

I saw Buck out on the 99 not too long before he passed he was out for cruise in his Bentley convertible. I passed him not really paying attention, realized it was Buck, I then slowed down and looked over to see if it was him, he mouthed yeah it's Buck, smiled, and gave me a wave. He was always cool. He put on a big show for us all out at Heart Park and had a lot of big names there years ago all the entertainment was free on him. He also helped with the Marine Toys 4 Tots program at Christmas time at the Civic Auditorium. He believed in giving back to the place where he hung his hat. A very long time ago, we used to do some work unrelated to music for him, he was always a gentleman to deal with, and gave good instructions as to what he expected.

Howdy,

I "discovered" Buck in 1999-shortly after I bought my first Tele and discovered the TDPRI. Grew up in the 70s and took him for granted as the guy on Hee Haw. I've been a big fan since '99 and enjoy his music. I sure miss Buck & Don!

Here's one where Buck comes in and takes a break after the steel about 1:30. Buck played right until the end. He could do a lot more than he showed in the video, but it shows he's comfortable doing a break.

I always thought he was really corny on Hee Haw...with that big grin. But that was his schtick for the show. I learned to really enjoy his songs as I got older.

Dude! Are you seriously only 20??? Cripes...I can't even imagine how good you're gonna be when your REAL old...you know...30?

You really got some clean, beautiful chops that are right on time. I really enjoyed that. Love the steel... Keep it up!
