Strange but true story...if you are interested
This is a true story...and I have never told it to anyone as I thought it was a little strange. But since I don't know any of you, it doesn't matter to me if you think I'm strange or not.
Years ago, I worked in a small town that had a somewhat busy highway running beside it. Not much to do in this small town on my lunch break, so I would drive down the highway a couple of miles to this nice little rest stop area. This rest area didn't have any rest rooms...just a few picnic tables...nestled in a grove of trees. I would eat my lunch from a paper bag, then sometimes lean the seat back in my truck and take a little nap. Usually I was the only one at this rest stop, except for the occassional travelers that had to let their dog out to run around abit. One day, I was awaken by a sound. At first I thought it was a cow or a blood hound bellowing. It kept bellowing until I just had to raise my head and take a look. There were about 5 or 6 ladies...ages ranging from around 30 to 60...standing around the main picnic table that was about 30 yards from my truck. They were talking amongst one-another as one of the older ladies was blowing into a cowhorn. I thought, "OK, just some travelers having some fun". But, my curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to watch. My truck windows are darkened, so I don't think they knew I was watching, but I'm sure they could see my truck parked not too far from them. All the ladies then sat down at the picnic table as the lady blowing the horn then started reading from a book she was holding. As the lady with the book was reading, she would sometimes point to one of the others in the group. I decided it wasn't worth figuring out, so I put my head down and decide to try to resume my nap. Then, I started hearing a hammering sound...metal against metal. I looked up and saw the ladies...one at a time...hammering something into the ground. They would pass the hammer around. This lasted about 10 minutes. Then they piled into a mini-van and left. My curiosity got to me again, so before I left to go back to work, I walked over to the main picnic table and saw that the ground was dug up somewhat. But what were they hammering? I scratched the ground and found the answer. I rail-road spike that looked like it had been painted gold. It was about 3 incheds under the ground level...too far to remove by hand. I left it there and went back to work...a little confused. About a year later, I tried to find the golden spike, but couldn't locate it. It was as if someone removed it from the ground. It must of been one of the women who removed it...at a later date. No one but them or me knew about it. What do you make of this? I am curious on what ya'll think. |

why do you have darkened windows?
eg. 'for now we see through a glass, darkly' or is it a hiphop thing? and what were the GPS co-ordinates of the spike, i imagine it might be relevant or not great story either way Once, many years ago in the City of London, proper, very late one night walking past a grand building, saw a van stop, a 'hippy' looking bloke got out, a toddler with him, walked up to the railings around the building and started hacksawing one of the rails, 'spike' even if you will. As if it was the most normal thing in the world. I said to my girlfriend 'that's a bit odd' and went to the front door of the building, rang the bell, and told the security man, 'there's someone sawing one of your your railings' he came out, we watched him approach the guy, midst sawing, and we wended our way |

Obviously a bunch of sexually repressed women performing a castration ritual. You are lucky they didn't spot you. But now they know you know….
