Good news! I don't have to change my avatar (motorcycle stuff).

Today, I bought my 2002 Triumph Bonneville T100 (the one in my avatar) back from the guy who's owned it for the past year. I won't be able to get it back in the garage until Thurday due to the current crappy riding weather (It's about twenty miles away), but it'll be home by the weekend for certain. I really missed this bike and regretted ever selling it. It ain't fast, but it's 'quick', sounds wonderful and looks even better than it sounds.

Nice bike. What year is it? I sometimes fail to realize how good I have it here in So Cal where it's almost always good riding weather. Enjoy your new scoot.

I hope you didn't lose money on the two transactions.

Sure I did!

Between selling it a year ago and then later buying it back, I have way too much into it now, at least by the NADA values. But even so, it's a LOT less than the used Harley Road King that the local dealer was trying to sell me (Like, $12,000 less). Of course, our local HD dealer had his bike at $2000 over NADA average retail, so as much as I wanted that Road King, I came to my senses and decided that I'd have as much fun, or more, on the Triumph, and wouldn't have to trade my 2007 ZX14 in to make it happen.

I'll probably look at a Road King next year, but with the addition of the T100, we're pretty well set for this riding season. When I want to go fast, I ride the ZX14, when we want to ride together, we take the GL1800, when I want to ride something beautifully 'retro' and classy, I'll ride the Bonneville.

It's a 2002, the second model year for the Hinckley-made (City in England where it was built) 'new' Bonnevilles.

I'd probably consider buying a new one, but they've kind of visually wrecked them for me by using black engine cases, generally less (IMO) attractive two-tone paint schemes, and a few other nitpicks...though the newer models are fuel-injected and a bit larger in displacement. Then again, this one costs one-third what a new Bonneville would, and IMO, looks better too.

love those bikes ...congrats on the reunion

I liked all Triumphs growing up and owned a 76 TR6.... sadly the cars made after 76 sucked... the bikes have retained the pedigree beautifully IMO

Glad to hear you're able to buy it back. I sold a clubman (Lotus 7 style) some years ago and I keep watching the sales and car forums in case it ever comes back up for sale. But, sometimes you have to move on I guess :(

Cool bike. I have always liked Triumphs, my dad used to work at a Triumph dealer on weekends selling them in 69 through 72 or so... I was a kid then and wanted a dirt bike because I didn't have a license yet.

I always liked the look of the Bonnie. Nice ride!

I had to give up motorcycles due to being on blood thinners. Miss getting to ride.

I guess I'll have to register myself as jealous. Damn you, and I mean that in the nicest way.

Looks like just the right amount of bike.

Not exactly sure what the point of buying a real new one is. This'll do all the things that need doing, and look good doing it.

By the way, where was this image taken, if I may ask?

North Nemo Road in the Black Hills, SD., about twenty miles from our house.

Here's another view of it taken at the same time, looking into the morning sun...Nemo Road is a perfect route for a summer morning Bonneville ride, postcard views, medium speeds, good pavement, and lot's of gentle hills and curves.

Beautiful Bonneville.

Have a friend who rides a 2004, and she has no problem keeping up with me on my hopped up Road Glide. And she smokes me in the twisties.

Just gotta remember it's not a sportsbike. Not meant to be.

Very, very cool bike!

All that I ever ask of it is to be a Triumph Bonneville, something it's very, very good at.

When I want to 'get frisky', I have the appropriate equipment...

Beautiful - love Bonnies. You may have lost some money but at least you know the bike's history so no expensive surprises.

Enjoy!
