Will Danica have first win and Nascar rambling
I always like to see newbies come in and win. I always feel sorry too
for the better racers (indy,formula1) have to eat crow and come over to another race circuit to make money. I guess if you have to turn left all day to make a million, it is worth it. lol

You state your opinion as fact in regards to "better drivers". Comparing the different motorsports disciplines is like comparing apples to oranges. Also NASCAR CUP drivers do road race twice a year and they are generally pretty good races. many of the current drivers grew up racing carts and other open wheel series and are quite capable drivers. The cars in F1 and NASCAR couldn't possibly be more different and they require different skill sets, Not better, different. Many make the argument that F! is all about the cars and the technology and make great hay about the lack of passing, the abundance of first lap crashes and racing in the rain at half speed. |

A bigger question is:
Why don't they have young, scantilly clad, female cheerleaders at those racing events? I never could figure out why football has the corner on that market... ![]() Signed Concerned |

Will Danica win ? Well I'm ok if she does, I do not follow Nascar anymore but now and then read the headlines... hard not to, I live in Charlotte...
Arguing , Indy vs Nascar... Well no, Nascar doesn't race in the rain..it's not about the drivers, it's about the cars...they are set up to race on dry surfaces..not even damp...no tread..slick tires..cars that are built to go strait and turn left on a dry surface as fast as they can.. The other major factor is INDY guys don't race 3 or sometimes 4 wide at 200 mph...common in Nascar .... So, if Danica is to do well at Daytona, first she needs a car that can go 488 miles and stay competitive and not wreck or have a bad tire etc...she really needs to be in the top 12 or 15 at mile 488....if she is..she at least has a chance...but she needs a bit more car under her to climb to 5th place or better on the final lap... If she is in the hunt, she has to really be on her best for the last lap ...she not only has to figure out what she has to do but understand what maybe 6 or 8 other PRO'S are gonna do...she has to guess correctly..if she makes a wrong decision , she can easily go from top 5 to 15th in a NY minute..well a Daytona minute...all because of a split second error... Now if she has a car that can lead the pack by 2 or 3 lengths for the last 2 miles..and she can hold on... she wins ! I wish her well... PS..lets remember Dale as well... Do we recall he was leading the entire field with less than 1/2 mile to go and a tire went out....Then one time he hit a freakin' bird ! All on the final lap...in a position to take it home....

F1 is a virtually unlimited class. Sure there are rules. They don't have rules on how much you can spend. F1 makes virtually no attempt to keep the costs down. If you want to spend $10,000 on a single connecting rod or $3000 for one bolt that's your business. Indycar is a spec class. They're like F1 with crate motors. They're cool crate motors but still crate motors. Quote:
You could put 'em on the JumboTron. But then you might as well watch it at home... I guarantee once the weather gets warmer and we get into the season there will be plenty to look at in the stands. Come to think of it we have entire squads of cheerleaders at the short tracks. They show up to cheer for their jalopy drivin' boyfriends. Their boyfriends are the same dudes who spend all the diaper money on race tires. BTW, a thread destined to go down in flames. |

I don't think Patrick has the experience it takes to be in position to win a stock car race at a superspeedway. If I had to bet money on it I'd say she finishes in the second half of the field on Sunday. Kyle Busch wins. I hope I'm wrong though...I hope Earnhardt wins it!!!!
