controlling line out volume?
When going from a line out jack on a guitar amp to a PA, is the volume controlled by the regular volume knob on the guitar amp, or is it entirely controlled by the volume knob for the PA channel that you have plugged into? In other words, if you turned the guitar amp volume down completely to zero, would the same level of sound be sent to the PA, where you could turn the volume up or down?

Typically the line out is a set level (-20db) iirc, unless there are knobs (like on a send/return). so the volume is controlled by the PA/whatever AMP you're putting the line out to.
hope this helps. tomtheguitarguy |
