For Dog Owners: Cold Laser Therapy?

My three year-old Cavalier Spaniel has had persistent lameness in his left front leg for a while now. After three trips to the vet, a round of cold laser therapy was decided upon. He finished a course of treatment where he was treated every other day for a total of five visits a week ago today. However, as of last night, it seems like he's back where he started from. I guess the options from here are: continue the laser therapy, a boot on the leg, or surgery.

Has anybody had any experience with the laser therapy where it worked as advertised?
