Karma, man!

I had similar problems with my previous neighbors and confronted them. I found that when I got past their rough exterior, they were bastards thru n thru and things only escalated. At my new address I have detached myself from everything my neighbors do (except to complain to my wife) and things have settled at a tolerable point. I figure I'll leave any retribution to karma. Heck, if the Dalai Lama can give that little smile whenever someone asks him about what China did to Tibet...

I think that you're making a mistake by waiting until the first of October to do something about this. Nearly every community has some kind of long-term parking restrictions, and I'd just about guarantee that the owner of this car is in violation of the law. Obviously, you haven't called city hall or the police department yet to ask about the rules - why wait? If you get this situation handled now, you'll be happier, and you'll also be doing a service to your neighbors. One abandoned car on the street will lead to more, and the neighborhood will begin to decline.

Simple community rules like parking restrictions are there for good reasons, and should be enforced. If I were you, I'd deal with this now.
I agree. Don't wait. If it hasn't moved in a week it's gathering dust in front of your property. Ask the police to come and put some of their day-glo orange paint on the windshield and see how long it stays there.

Involving the homeowners' association would be a good idea, too. That way it's not just you but the whole neighborhood being intolerant.

If anyone cares, they moved the car that was in front of our house yesterday.

I will be parking there all weekend.

people absolutely SUCK!

I feel your pain Honga. Ever since this damn housing boom and skyrocketing home prices our idiot neighbors (hubby, wife, daughter, and in-laws living under the same roof) seemingly refi-d their house and bought two new cars and a Harley.

Where we live, in a townhome association, there are guest parking spaces among the resident spaces. Now it is incumbent upon this scum to use the guest parking as an extension of their two-car garage where they park their Harley. These people have a sum total of 2 newish VW bugs, the Harley, two Ford SUV's and their daughter's Honda Civic. They are not the only transgressors in the comunity but it amazes me at the lack of neighborly courtesy these guys present.

A while back they had their house up for sale and obviously no one bought it-they wanted the moon. Man I wish I would have listed it myself for free. It would have been worth the eradication of the eyesore that they are.

One day the neighborhood kids were out being kids slamming their skateboards on the curb outside my garage. Noisy but no biggy. I can relate. I am just a big kid too. OK, well the neighborhood d*^&head comes over and begins to lecture them and lay into one of the moms-our old neighbor who has since moved.

She is way too nice and he goes on and on of how he wants the kids to stop slamming their skateboards into the curb because HE doesn't want to have to pay for it to be repainted over and over again (10 feet of curbspace mind you). I was sooo ticked with the parking crap at the time ( because we have a hard time finding space for guests) and I was working in the garage that I flew out and laid into this guy about how we have more serious issues to contend with than the kids being kids. He goes on an on about how I need to go to a homeowners meeting and let my issues be known. We both exchanged numbers and parted squarely then but I still think he's a d*&^ and we both eyeball each other when I drive up the asphalt past his house. He backed off the kids and never came back to yell at them since. What a d*&^. The kids were/are forever cool to me. I need them to go launch a baseball on that guy's truck.
