What video / computer / console games are you playing now?
I've been a life long gamer, from the earliest ADVENT text adventures, Trek games played on mainframes, and just about every computer game that has been out in the last 30 years. I especially love turn based strategy games. I was seriously addicted to Civilization V for awhile there.
My latest obsession is XCOM Enemy Unknown for the XBOX. It is an amazing update to the classic XCOM PC game of 20 years ago. Equipping your squad of soldiers and sending them out to battle the aliens, one turn at a time. And the multiplayer mode is seriously fun too. Love XCOM, highly recommended. My kids have been enjoying Assassins Creed III, which also looks way cool. What games are you playing lately?

FIFA 13 - PS3
but im a football fan, not a gamer, the only other games ive owned are all the previous fifas... its more like a FIFA station 3

I missed the boat as far as PC gaming goes... never quite got the hang of the ones I've tried... they're too busy....
I just don't get "amusing" myself that way...... I'm sure it's good fun blasting things.....

I was totally into Call of duty and tried them all and then went to Battlefield 3 which is amazing. All the online cheating caused me to revert back to my favourite tried and true which is Falcon 4 from Lead Pursuit. A very realistic flight simulator.

Was playing my Classic:Ironman XCOM game earlier today. It's definitely fun, but I still prefer the original. The new one is way too shallow on the strategic layer for my likes. I also still play Left 4 Dead 2, Civilization, Europa Universalis....mostly "strategy" games.

These days, most commercial games are out for me. I refuse to buy a game that requires an internet connection just to install, and doesn't have a disc. So I just don't get anything new.
Might get some Good Old Games, enough. Those are cheap enough I might not mind not having a disc. I, too came from the mainframe prior to the PC. I've even worked on some games, but none you've heard of (it was part of another job). Who knows? I might be reduced to only playing the roguelikes. |
