I've been unemployed for the last 10 months, I've spent the last 8 as a stay at home dad which has been pretty awesome, but really it's time to get the hell out of Arizona and a new job.

So last week I had a 3 hour skype interview for a job and they would be making an offer this week. With in hours of finishing it I was asked to sign a background check waiver and send the college my official transcripts. I figure they sent the background check in on monday and will hopefully have it back wednesday and at least my graduate transcript should get there Tuesday or Wednesday. As far as I know they haven't called my references yet but, that should happen soon.

Really would someone get you to sign a background check and ask for your transcripts? Especially since they say they need official transcripts prior to higher...come on guys tell me this is the one.

Definitely sounds like the one!

But make sure you don't send them anything in writing that refers to being "highered"!

At this point all I've sent is th background check form and orders my transcripts. I just really want my wife to get to be a stay at home mom for a while. And I'll keep the roof over our heads.

It sounds good as long as you don't have anything too bad show up in your background check.

I know the feeling of long time unemployment and coming in "second". After the dot.com bubble there was a deluge of "marketing" folks on the market and no jobs. I was out for 18 mos. It resulted in my starting a handyman service that grew into a successful contracting business.

I hope this breaks for you!

It's usually a good sign. Hows your credit rating? That's a big one these days.

well I've been out of work for 10 months so somethings haven't been paid on time but I did get approved for a car a few months ago so hopefully good enough.
