So, with a population of 65 million we finish third in the Olympics. Key part of Ryder Cup. Us Open tennis. US open golf. Champions League. Beat , no stuff, the All Blacks. Tour de France. Beat India in India in cricket. Champions League winners.

UK - best sporting nation on earth?

When I was a player, I noticed that people would say "WE" win the team won and "YOU" when we didn't win.

Frontrunners, for the most part, suck.
Nationalism about sports (and in general) is pretty hokey if you ask me, but, everyone has the option to self signify... if you have to brag, it is a pretty good indication of insecurity...

and, yes, I know where I live.

The English media are great at claiming Northern Irish,Welsh and Scottish sportsmen as their very own UK winners when those competitors are performing well,but quickly revert to paddy,taff and jock losers when the tide turns.
