iTunes 11

Apple has released the latest incarnation of iTunes. So far, the reviews I've seen have been positive -- no major screw-ups or oversights reported in the new version -- but I'm holding off for a little while just to be sure. Anyone here downloaded it yet?

Update is not user friendly.

Does not open to like the V10.7 Devices default.

V11 does not show your devices: under File: Devices grayed out.

Cannot use Time Machine to roll back the V11 update to V10.7.

Apple Support online is for V10.

A new software release should include text or video documentation.

Sent Feedback regarding above issues.

Not happy camper.

Apple suckered me on the new IOS for the iPhone, rendering my phone nearly unusable due to the new maps that I rely on for public transportation where I live.

No way will I be an early adopter. I have no trust for them anymore.

I use iTunes to transfer music and books on my devices, deactivated the deadly "iSync" . So, I wonder what great improvement there will be? Maybe a blues section in the istore?

Just this morning I had the "opportunity" to upgrade. I opted out.

If you have a lot of playlist in sub folders it is a pain to use as they don't stay open for a drop and drag target. However right it is a lot faster then the last version which kept crashing on me. time will tell

When you search from your library it no longer excludes the rest of the library and the search closes if you choose one selection rather then staying open to sample different versions of a single title/artist if that is what you were doing

I got a new iphone and could not do anything with it until I updated itunes.
I too never do anything until I absolutely have to do it.

It works OK here, on a new Mac. That's not to say it's user-friendly.

Updated on an Air running Mountain Lion, no troubles, works fine. I'm glad they got rid of that @$& coverflow thing. Clicking an album does a popdown to show its contents, which is handy. I hear good things about the mini-player but don't use it myself.

Ah ye of little faith. In my former life as a Mac consultant I've upgraded hundreds of computers, Apple has a pretty decent track record.

Individuals might not like the changes but all and all, stuff gets better. Granted, Maps in OS5 wasn't a good update for some folks, for me it was great.

iTunes11 is a delayed release, Apple had some work to do and didn't release at the first proposed date. It's a step forward, less bloated, improved interface (yes, it's different) and some nice new features.

I believe you with regard to iTunes, but that Maps thing really was a debacle! The Google app worked great, and they replaced it with a mess that by comparison is still inaccurate and unreliable.

I got the email about itunes being upgraded yesterday and hit the upgrade now button without thinking about it. Half an hour later I saw this thread and thought I might have made a mistake but I have to say that I've added another 20 or so of my own cd's to my itunes collection on the laptop and then synced it to my iphone and everything went very smoothly.

So, no problems to report so far.

I like iTunes 11. Much faster, great mini player. Takes a little getting used to but works great. YMMV
