It seems, and feels, much closer than 11 years.
For those of you on Facebook, "The Concert for George" is streaming on November 29 free of charge. I own the DVD, but I'll probably listen to the audio at work tomorrow and try to keep the tears to a minimum. It's really hard not to shed a tear or two at the end of the movie when Joe Brown does "I'll See You in My Dreams". Thanks for all the music, George. |

We were talking-about the space between us all
And the people-who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse the truth-then it's far too late-when they pass away. We were talking-about the love we all could share-when we find it To try our best to hold it there-with our love With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew. Try to realize it's all within yourself No-one else can make you change And to see you're really only very small, And life flows ON within you and without you. We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people, Who gain the world and lose their soul- They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find, peace of mind, Is waiting there- And the time will come when you see... Vale George, you cool Beatle you.. .."we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you."

Oh, shoot, I got the wrong concert. Sorry about that. I was thinking of the induction to the Hall of Fame concert, apparently.

We have "I'd have you anytime" and "Give Me Love" and For You Blue in our set list. I love playing those tunes. The chords and the melody in those songs are beautiful.

I love the Beatles. I don't have a favorite Beatle. I believe their greatness was due to the group being better than it's individual parts. Lennon and McCartney are arguably the most famous (perhaps best) songwriters of all time.
However, Here Comes the Sun is perhaps the greatest song of all time -- really it's perfect. George doesn't really get all the acclaim he deserves. His intricate parts lend so much sonic depth to the Lennon/McCartney material. His chord shapes and his musical theory strike me as being far beyond the other three members. RIP |

Nice choices! One of my all time favorites is "Behind That Locked Door" from All Thing Must Pass. The word "exquisite" comes to mind.
