Hottie takes my phone number on her cell phone last night..
met her at the laundromat about a block away from my place. About 5' 6", sandy blonde hair, gray eyes and slim build.
I noticed her looking at me with those piercing eyes while we were putting our clothes in- she was using the machines right on the other side from me. She sat a couple of seats away from me and I wanted to read my new book. Another lady was talking loudly on her cell phone and I was trying to concentrate on my book. The girl was making noises (sighs, coughs etc) but I wanted to read the book. As we were putting our clothes in the dryer the lady who works at the laundromat came up and asked me "Have you ever been married" and stuff like that then she went over and talked to the girl. I figured they knew each other or something. Later the lady came back and asked me something and got the girl in the conversation. Next thing I know she's sitting next to me. A few minutes later the laundromat lady says she's getting off work and winks at me. I talked to the girl for about a half an hour. As I was leaving i gave her my phone number because she had her cell phone there and told her to call me. Think she'll call? |

"Think she'll call?"
Even if she doesn't, you still win. You're not even out any money for a date, and you got to talk to a pretty girl for awhile. Unless she was dumb as a box of rocks, you made out OK on the deal. If she does call, BONUS! Jake P.S.- Did you get a look at her laundry? I'm not being creepy, I honestly believe you can tell alot about a person by the underwear they choose.

I disagree. I was talking about this with a friend the other night. When I was single, I always gave the woman my number and didn't take hers unless she offered it. And yes, the ones that were interested would call back. One time I gave my number to a woman and there was a message on my answering machine by the time I got home. We've been together thirteen years now. |

Good for you!
It depends on the situiation and the manner in which you do it, but I think giving out your number to her is a great move! Things are scary out in the dating world these days (from what I see and hear amongst my single friends) and I think giving out your number shows confidence on your part (if you're not too cocky about it) and safely puts the ball in her court.
If she calls, you look like the perfect gentleman you are, and can tell her how glad you are she phoned. If she doesn't, it was what it was, and you're not out anything emotionally or otherwise. :D

At my last office job I was surrounded by about 70% women. There were women there that seemed completely modern and progressive and independant in every way you could imagine except for romance, which they were very traditional about. And there were some women that seemed very traditional in every sense other than romance, and they hated the traditional stuff. Don't even bother guessing, it'll just drive you nuts. |

I think she called this morning but my co-worker answered the phone when it rang and noone would answer him. She might've thought I gave her the wrong number. |

Kinda funny, I had a similar situation happen last Saturday night.
Went to a local bar. Started chatting with this slim, good looking blonde at the bar. I was pretty drunk. Two hours later we were at my place. Around 2am I asked her "What was your name again?" Hmmm, I wonder if she'll call. True story, no lie.

Ian: I will if everything goes according to plan. ;-)
TimGreene: Wow- I never thought of that. I think she might know way more about me than I know about her. The grapevine around here is too good. These girls talk about anything and everything to each other. |

What I meant is most women are socially unaccostomed to being the ones to initiate "second" contact. Some react easily towards it...most won't. At least most women of my era.
Younger women are much more brazen now than they were when I was out there back in the day. And that's a shame. (for me)! ;) |

I went up to the Cape Cod Canal fishing a few weeks ago and visited "Alex's". They have a bunch of Brazilian dancers there that are out of this world! As well as the American gals.
