Got KBR's Albert Collins video

I just got the All About Albert Collins video from KBR yesterday. There was some pretty hip stuff on it, I would recommend it to others, he shows some pretty neat tricks on doing the AC thing and getting the sound.

just thought I would share

Ian

On the Albert Collins video, does he show how to play in that style in standard tuning without the Capo? (Thats one thing I've always wondered about)

I took lessons from KBR. Yes, he does the Collins stuff in standard tuning without the capo.

Watched the Albert Collins video tonight... man thats some great stuff... I don't know if folks appreciate Kenny enough but I SURE DO!!! That video means a lot to me man, more than words can say... It's great to be able to learn detailed info about AC's style from someone who actually played and hung out with the guy... I've learned a ton off of just watching it through the first time and I'm about to go watch it again... thanks so much KBR

There is a section at the end of the tape with some live KBR playing...You are a great player, bro'... looks like KBR is one of those cats that can say more with 5 notes than some folks try to say with 20 (!)... it was cool to see you playing live at the end... great tone. great playing

I like KBR's stuff. I got a lot of mileage out of his Chicago Blues and Freddie King videos. His CD's are also excellent. Lotsa licks to cop there. Definitely highly recommended.

I'd be interested in that one too. I bought a Albert Collins dvd a couple a weeks ago of one of his shows from a club in Germany in 1988. On the last song (Frosty) Duke Robillard comes on stage & plays.

In my not so humble opinon, Kenny has the talent and chops to be a household blues name. Great touch, tone and technique. I received his Albert King and Freddie King videos in a trade we did a few years back and still enjoy watching them. I have 4 or 5 of his CD's and they stay in regular rotation. If you love great guitar based blues, check him out. You won't be disappointed.
