I vote myself the Dumbass of the Year 2012...
Did a flyaway gig a couple of weeks back. Got lazy- didn't fill my guitar case with T-shirts etc, and didn't take the Korean Hockshop Queen (WHICH IS why I bought it...
End result?... ![]() ... this is the pickguard on my Blazer where the rockape baggage throwers at Brisbane Airport got to it. Ouch. ANYWAY, here the Blue Boy sits waiting for the new white/black/white pg to arrive... ![]() Like the dog-ear P90 route? I did it with a hammer and a sharp screwdriver about 15 years ago...

I wouldn't vote you for DA of the year...not by a long shot. But the idiot who did that to your guitar....he gets my vote!

I think a w/b/w pickguard will look better than the black one anyway!

Anytime I read stories about wear n' tear on the road I just look at a picture of Willie's acoustic - that puppy looks like it rides on TOP of the bus!

Bummer. Sorry. You're not a dumbass. It's ok to that that the baggage people will take nearly reasonable care of stuff.
That guitar is about 30 years old isn't it? Cool guitar.

After. I noticed it a few days later.

Yes-- and yes. 1982 Blazer, although (apparently, and according to the archived brochures on Ibanez website) that body colour wasn't an option with the blade style pickups and the natural headstock.

Hey,off topic, but dumber than a bag of hammers-----
Tonight,I had 3 chicken breasts on the grill--I flipped them, reached for the olive oil sprayer and grabbed the bug poison can by mistake. It wasn't until I sprayed and smelled that I saw my stupidity.

My old bushy mate Col has got an old Blazer....
he plays acoustic mostly with a few mates in a bush band.... hats, beards, no shoes, overalls.. you know the type.. hard, high strung guitars... hard to play for me... I used to go over to his shed when I was playing my Ibanez acoustic and jam a bit with him...try to learn some of his runs.. this old Blazer was always leaning on the wall gathering dust and spider webs... I checked it out once, tuned the strings.. but the action was a cheese cutter..the strings were rusty.... he didn't have an amp either...not at it's best..... shame really... I would love to have it here now to do it up a bit and get it playable again.... as I mess with electrics on a daily basis... Col has moved away now, I'm not sure where he is... .... I had just a chance meeting with a real Blazer, a one off hold, I'm afraid..... sigh
