Adam and the Ants.....Kings of the Wild Frontier

Let me explain....

Every single I had on iTunes, I went through and bought the album - and I was going through play counts and realised I hadn't listened to this purchase - now I know why.....there are a couple of tracks that are ok, otherwise just another early 80's pop act....

Steve Earle's "Townes", all songs written by the late Townes Van Zandt. It just came in the mail and my first impression is very good.

High Lonesome by Jedd Hughes

I don't hear a lot of beautiful new country music (not "New Country") but boy, I tell ya, I love this song and this performance.

Chess Soul: A Decade of Chicago's Finest (As this 60s compilation proves, Chess was so much more than the few artists portrayed in Cadillac Records. The Knight Bros.' "Temptation 'Bout to Get Me," Billy Stewart's "I Do Love You," Jackie Ross' "Selfish One," Ramsey Lewis' "Wade in the Water" and about 40 other great soul tracks.)

I'm listening to the Brent Allen Band out of Austin because I'm trying to learn their music before tomorrow. I got hired as lead guitarist for them at we are playing Thur., Fri., and Sat. nights this week, and I didn't get to practice their music until this week because I was on the road last week filling in for a different band that I had to practice for last week before we headed out, and every extra minute while we where out. If you check them out, let me know what you think of them. If things go good this week, they said they will hire me full time.

Lately I've (again) fallen down the rabbit hole called Bill Frisell.

Spent the night driving (work...) listening to an old influence... Robin Trower. Kind of an mp3 mixtape of "...Live", "Bridge of Sighs" and "Long Misty Days". Can't believe I haven't listened to this for maybe 10 years!!!
