I guess the adage about putting a frog in hot water and him jumping out, but if you put him in cold water in a pan and turn the fire on under him that he will sit there until he boils is true.

I hope she gets a jury full of reasonable adults who, unlike her, expect black benches in direct sunlight to be hot. I wish she'd caught on fire and died.

It'll settle and never see the inside of a courtroom.

At the very least, she's looking at a handsome settlement. The Cowboys organization has deep pockets. They'll pay her off just to shut her up.

I don't live in Texas, and I still figured out that the sun makes rocks and black cars hot. Even though I see the sun maybe a dozen times a year. A black rock? I don't think I'm gonna try that one.

How many bazillions would we save if "contingency" lawsuits were outlawed?

What's amazing to me is how quickly people will attack the character of some woman they don't even know, and run to the defense of a large corporate entity that doesn't need anyone's sympathy...

This is what judges are for. If a judge thinks her case is without merit, he'll throw it out of court. If the judge thinks her case might have some merit, then he'll listen to both sides before making a judgement.

It could be frivolous, but it could be that this lady actually has a point. We don't know.

Now it seems like the large corporate entity that is the Dallas Cowboys is trying to use their pull with the media to have this lady tarred and feathered publicly before it even goes before a judge.

I'll reserve my own judgement, but the more I hear about this in the media, the more I'm going to be rooting for some unknown female football fan with a bright red butt... lol

Well, McDonald's does have a responsibility to serve beverages at temperatures low enough that they don't physically harm their customers.

Just institute a "loser pays" system. Contingency lawyers might think twice.
I'm surprised she didn't sue God for creating her with half a brain.

The tort system was established with the view to making people " whole" when they suffered an injury due to someone else's negligence. It was not established to make people rich just because they hire the right lawyer. By the way, did this happen in Oxnard, CA or in Dallas. I never caught that point.
