It is an awesome picture but it is not from the new Curiosity rover. That picture was taken by the Opportunity rover. Curiosity is still getting up and going and hasn't moved yet (as far as I know). You can see tracks from the rover's movement in this picture.

Regardless of what took that top panorama...it is a fantastic photo!

Just think what the new one will be able to do!

I'm pretty sure I know where the hangar is that NASA is using to fake the Curiosity landing. Want the address?

I just toured the space center here in Houston... pretty tame all things considered. But walking into a big tin shed with a SATURN V laying on its side was awe inspiring... truly. ...Even Mrs. Ash thought it was cool. But, that's why she is Mrs. Ash.

I'm an engineer by trade, realizing that all that stuff was built on paper with slide rules is a little humbling.

Gemini, Apollo, whatever... I always stayed home from school... and mom didn't care.

Awesome stuff... be proud you're an American... at least sometimes.

Awesome! It's actually kind of spooky to think that Mars was probably once wet, and a lot like Earth. It's as though the desert just grew like a cancer until it swallowed the entire surface of the planet, and the sky too...

Sahara (sky is still blue):

Mars (sky is sand colored):
