Happy Birthday, Magic Slim

Lincoln's own (I know he's from Chicago via Mississippi, but he liked it so much here that he moved) Magic Slim (real name Morris Holt) turns 75 today. Happy birthday, Magic!

I've been privileged to see Magic a bunch of times. He's a super nice guy and a great talent. Here's to many more birthdays for Magic.

Thanks for posting. The Teardrops were backing him when I saw him. Good band.

I found Magic Slim via Pandora on my Redd Volkaert channel. What a great player.

Happy Birthday, sir!

He used to make a regular stop at the Turning point in Piermont NY. The Teardrops had a great bass player for a while - Snapper Mitchum IIRC.

I always trot out Gravel Road when we're jamming on blues numbers.
