The "I'm watching the Olympics right now" thread

Its on! Yes we can multi-task.

I'm an Olympics junkie, I be watching as much as possible. What are you watching right now?

I loved the opening ceremony. Bob Costas is the fountain of youth. Sir Paul McCartney can still bring it at 70, he was great. Gota hand it to the British, that was a wonderful way to start the show!

Woke up at 7AM turned on the TV and I'm enjoying the mens bike riding. I think those camera crews are riding BMW motorcycles. Jeeze these high def camera angles are great.

Its gona be a fun couple of weeks. What are you watching? What have you enjoyed the most so far?

You know this mens bike riding is going thru some beautiful English countryside. Lovely neighborhoods, roads, hills, trees. The crowds are great, cheering everybody on.

How far is this race anyway?

Edit - 150 miles.

What an amazing effort by Vinokourov -- silver in Sydney, gold in London.

Poor excuses, the GB team let the leading group get too much of a gap. Gutted for Cav tho'.

That was a great men's bike finish. The old guy from Kazakhstan just stole it there at the end. He was crying. Fun stuff to watch.

I was really hoping Stuart O'Grady could have got a medal. His 6th Olympics, he rode on the track at Barcelona in 1992. Would have been a great result.

Watched the last 10 minutes of the bike race this morning. Great to see a old fart of 38 get the gold.

I watched womens basketball first thing this morning. Canada was so close to winning a big upset against Russia. They led through the first 3 quarters and then Russia poured it on and won. Good try by the women. Then I switched over to womens soccer and watched Canada beat South Africa 3-0 in a well played game by both teams.

Good thing the women are excelling because there is no mens Canadian basketball or soccer teams this year...

Not watching right now, but was watching some volleyball earlier...did anyone else see that there's a girl on the US team named Destinee Hooker.

Why would her parents do that?

Every time I see the words "XXX Summer Olympics" in my on-screen cable guide, I think I've wandered into the adult channels.

Am watching the women's bike race this morning. Raining hard. Again, lovely London countryside.

Also watching the women's cycling.
Weather is disgusting out there right now.

I was going to cycle down to Hampton Court to watch them but no way I am heading down in this weather.

Hands up who thought 'Peloton' was the name of one of the riders!

How they can dive like that in perfect sync is amazing.

Watching the Women's Road Race today.

Wandered over to Richmond Park yesterday, had a picnic by the roadside waiting for the race to come through. Nice to have experienced a bit of the Olympics. Tipping down with rain today though.

I rode that hill in Richmond Park a few weeks ago.
It is a killer.

How they can do it at 30 miles an hour is utterly beyond me.
